Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

Dear everyone. Time to put something to bed. For all you idiots who think im ripping Jago. Please do the following:

3. Look at my entire body of work and the progression thereof. Look at Jago's entire body of work and the progression thereof. And then go fuck yourself.

I love Jago. He's an amazing artist. I also love myself. I am an amazing artist. There is no way in hell i would try intentionally or not to rip of Duncan. No way no how. This would not only devalue his work (bad) but completely devalue my work (very bad. and more important.).

My work of a couple of months ago may have held some visual similarities, purely incidental, to Jago's work and people told me this. People i respect. And so i have been steering clear of that stuff. If you think i am ripping. You are wrong. Look at my new shit. Look at all my shit. Eat your own shit.

A friend of mine once mentioned it to me too.. the first thing he said was "reminds me of a certain mr jago"
I can see where there are some similarities i guess.. namely that you both use very bright and contrasting colours to draw robots with quite a messy style.

However, I would know the work you both produce apart any day.

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone that doesn't create works that resemble something else.

Christ, all these "anime artists" on deviantart.. their stuff all looks the same to me.
